I often listen during call with customers "Is that software or OS X or Y is working on Noah series ?".

So, I decided to list below all tested software on the embedded motherboards Noah2 / Noah3 / Noah4 / Noah5 / Noah6. This list is non exhaustive and you can add your tested working software in this topic:

OS:
  • Debian 8, 9, 10, 11, 12
  • FreeBSD
  • Windows 10 (with VGA connector on Noah2 or HDMI connector on Noah3, Noah4, Noah5 or micro HDMI on Noah6)
  • Windows 11 on Noah5 / Noah6 with TPM option
  • Haiku OS beta 2 and nigthly build. (on msata or SATA only. Haiku has currently no driver for the eMMC, but working in progress by Haiku guys) This OS is impressively fast on Noah series
Router:
  • OPNsense
  • pfsense
  • openwrt (with msata or sata only. The eMMC is not detect because openwrt start in legacy mode)
Aggregator
  • OpenMPTCProuter
IPBX:
  • WAZO
  • VitalPBX
  • 3CX
Hypervisor:
  • Proxmox
  • Hyperv core 2019 (in VGA/HDMI mode only for installation. Only on msata or SATA because eMMC is not detected by windows on Bay Trail)
Specialized OS:
  • FreeNAS

Broachlink Noah series embedded motherboard / Show boot menu at startup
« on: August 25, 2020, 05:22:04 pm »
Sometime it is convenient to have the bootable device selection menu on the boot screen

  • With plugged USB keyboard , hit F7
  • From console port, for example connected with Kitty/Putty. The waited sequence by the BIOS is ESC and the number 7
    • with QWERTY keyboard : hit ESC and 7 .
    • with AZERTY keyboard : hit ESC and SHIFT + 7  (to get the number 7, the 7 key of numeric pad is not working)

Announces / Broachlink NoahV2 motherboard replacing the APU2 / 3?
« on: June 12, 2020, 02:27:01 am »
Today, we are pleased to announce the availability of a new powerful and flexible motherboard for network and telecom solutions.

As a solution provider for resellers, integrators and telecom operators, Rack Matrix Technology has always listened to its customers. Indeed, it turns out that the PC Engines APU3 card, which is suitable for most applications, suffers from minor shortcomings in some cases, reported by our customers:

The AMD processor (4 cores 1GHz) on board APU2 / 3 cards proves to be limited for pfSense / OPNsense routers with third-party applications requiring power.
Some customers wish to set up operation backup with Proxmox (open source hypervisor) machines with APU cards. It works well but the 4GB of memory is not enough and 8GB would be ideal.
Other clients may need a video port for thin client applications.
Finally, some customers wish to have a router capable of handling many VPN tunnels as well as a processor capable of holding a load of up to 1Gbps.

It is with a view to overcoming these limitations that the Noah V2 motherboard was designed.

Here are some key points regarding the improvements made by this new generation of Noah V2 motherboard:
